1. It is not that 3 more planets have been detected, it is simply that the scientific community is voting on whether 3 known objects should be reclassified as planets.
2. The Sun does not burn. Burning is a molecular action where chemical energy is released as molecules break apart into reactant products. The Sun, like most stars, is a giant fusion reactor. It is held together by its own gravity which compresses hydrogen atoms into helium atoms. The conversion process actually consumesa very small part of the mass of the hydrogen which is released as energy.

First and foremost - it's ASTRONOMY and NOT astrology. The sun doesn't "burn" in the conventional way - such as a camp fire - it is a gigantic nuclear fussion reactor. Oxygen isn't needed for nuclear fusion - it is converting the mass into energy by converting helium into hydrogen.
There is some controversy as to whether there are three new planets or possibly just a definition change to create at least one of them. Google - new planets.

1. All new planets being detected are actually Kuiper Belt objects ... Pluto is one as well. For awhile they considered not calling Pluto a planet anymore but so many people disagreed - and if Pluto is a planet, these other objects must also be classified as planets.
2. The sun us burning Hydrogen and Helium, which are more flammable than Oxygen.

Not astrology. Astronomy.
Ceres, Charon (Pluto's moon), Xena. They have to be approved.
The energy created within the Sun or in its core is released as light and heat. It is a nuclear fusion thus oxygen is not necessary.

This is not ASTROLOGY (a bunch of hocum about how the alignment of stars and planets direct our lives) -- it is about ASTRONOMY (the study of the stars and planets themselves).
Even my 5 year old could figure out how to just copy the spelling from the subject heading.....
