My boss sent me a card with a bonus check included saying thanks for all my hard work. I know everyone didnt get one at work. Is it common practice to send a Thank You note in return saying thanks or is that just kissing a$s? What do you think?

Send the note, common courtesy, it's going out of fashion you know, which is a pity.

Well since it is usually the employee kissing butt and not the boss I wouldn't think to much of it. Obviously you are the hardest working employee there and your boss wanted to show you that. Just don't go around the office telling ANYONE you recieved it, all that will do is cause problems. Enjoy the rewards for working hard and doing your job well. And yes say thank you or better yet just tell him your welcome.

It is very thoughtful to send a thank you note for a bonus check.
My husband has done that for the last five years he has received one and the boss told him recently that he was the only one that has done that, and the boss remembered that he has done it every year.

I wouldn't say it was brown nosing, but I wouldn't send a note, just be thankful that they noticed your hard work and go on about it. Don't give them any reason not to give you another bonus.. GOOD LUCK!

Send a plain note thanking them for the recognition, and confirming continued hard work.

Just tell him in person, no need to send a note. Do it in private.

don't send a card, just do a face to face thank you. They didn't do anything special. You earned that extra money and it is their responsibility to reward you accordingly.

Sent the note, but keep it very simple.

If everyone didn't receive one, then that should tell you something, you better to asskissin'! If your work is appreciated over everyone else's, I'd say thank them again with a note although you've done it verbally.

it's polite and just because you did that you might get a bigger bonus check at Christmas. We all like to be appreciated with small tokens like a thank you card.
