This question and explanation does not make much sense. If you want to initiate a healthy public debate then you should ask clear question. As far as several of these racist answers on board are concerned, ignore them. They are blue collar trash who are no good for anything. They can neither change any thing about themselves nor about anybody else.
Being said that, I think this country is about hard work and value for merit. No place in the world is perfect. But if you compare this country with several others you will be amaze how well people of different races do here. Everybody has opportunity to educate, get a job and rise. I acknowledge there are some negative thinking people around but majority are nice and fair people. I came here to get advance education and build a career. I did extremely well. I was supported by jews, christians, hindus, muslims, blacks, white etc, everybody. Local people helped me more than immigrants from my native country. I think media has done a terrible job in spliting people but have faith in majority good and do not spoil this nice world for petty differnces. Peace.

If it was a genuinely asked question, I would tell them that I was employed here, raising my family, etc. If it was someone trying to make me feel bad, I wouldn't tell them that I had ever lived any where but here.
Sometimes people who are not from the U.S. complain about something going on in the U.S. and people respond, if you don't like it here then go home. I would think that would hold true in any country.

Why didn't I come back to what, would be my response. As far as folk that are different from me, well there not; there all people. At least I think they are, they seem like they want all the same things I want. They have the same concerns and goals, what's the distinction from one to another. We're all part of the same species, what more do we need for commonalities to exist.

I live in Madison, WI. The city is very diverse. So far, all the various ethnicities have been refreshing. However there are some really obnoxious blacks around my neighborhood. I think if they remove the chip from their shoulder, life would be much easier for them.

people come to USA mostly because their own countries suppress their freedoms (religious and/or pursuit of happiness) or don't allow their people to live comfortable lives.
Another reason is that many countries are poor and the chance to become financially independent are virtually non-existant.

it's the land of the free and i have just as much right to live here as anyone else does. everyone in the US are illegal aliens. this land belonged to the native americans until they were invaded and treated horribly by the pilgrims. so no one should be here except for them. but that's just my opinion.
