It depends on who they are. If they're a health professional, they should lose their license if they do. Otherwise, it's freedom of speech, unfortunately.

Why not? People are entitled to their opinions. Besides, in the early days of the disease, it was mainly a disease that gay people contracted. Of course these days it is an equal opportunity disease affecting gay and straight alike.

Well, this is America, freedom of opinion or speech. If someone wants to walk around saying that, we can't do anything about it. You say "allow" as if we have the authority or power to tell them they can't. It's not a gay disease, it's an ANYONE disease....we know that, just ignore the people who say otherwise.

Anyone can say what they want.
Saying AIDS is a "gay" disease just shows how ignorant they are of actual facts and really brings attention to their homophobia.

What about the babies born HIV positive? They sure aren't the
result of a gay union.
Saying it's a gay disease is ridiculous.

No, because not only gays have AIDS. However the proportion of gays with AIDS is much higher than the proportion of straight people with AIDS.

People are free to say what they want, as long as it doesn't present a "clear and present danger" (i.e., shouting 'fire' in a crowded place.) However, since straights are just as likely to get it as gays, I think it's a little unfair, to say the least.
