Genetic predisposition
Environment that didn't help.
I know a lot of people with low self-esteem.They are all wonderfull ,interesting and VERY good friends.

I think it's all in how you were brought up.

Not saying it's the parents fault,.....

But I tell you what---you can be confident in Jesus Christ. If you have asked Him into your heart, ask Him to help you with your self esteem. Sometimes it takes having to go through someone giving you a hard time--with words or actions--and you have to 'go through' the hard times, so that when you look back on them, you'll know Jesus was there with you all along. It helps your confidence AND your self esteem, and MUCH more. Christ wants to help you, whatever your problem is.

Has alot to do with the people u hang around, and how u view urself..begin to tell urself " I'm wonderful " all the time every day, yeah it sounds lame but try it...

because the world around us is cruel and hateful. and if you're like me, then from time you can remember, people have been saying mean things to you or about you. and we allow those words to scar us so deeply that we just have a difficult time getting over it.
