I assume you mean for use as a boat anchor? Right?
Well, an advantage is that there are lots to pick from.
A disadvantage is that it's hard to tie a rope around all the stuff then heave it over the side without something coming lose....pet peeve...

there are no disadvantages. unless you are computer illiterate. then the disadvantage is that you are wrecking it every time you do something cause you thought you would just play around and try things that you are unsure of.
