He is 18 and i am almost 16. We were pretty close growing up. I have 6 brothers and sisters and out of all of us we are the 2 that are closest in age. But once he started middle school and i was still in elementary school we started to drift apart. When i got into middle school he went to high school. Last year he was a senior and i was a freshman so we finally got to go to the same school again. But some days he just didn't want to talk. The few days that he did talk to me, i felt really close to him. I met 2 brothers and sisters the other day that our the same ages as me and my brother and they are best friends. I want to become closer to my brother before he moves out (i have about 4 years, he is going to a college near by). Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can become friends with my brother? We get along, we just don't do things together.

I think you should observe and watch your brother more to see what his likes and dislikes are. When he's watching TV, join him and whatever amuses him; laugh at the show and create a joke behind it. If he thinks that's annoying, you should confront him and ask him, "Whatever happened to us? We used to be close and now we're drifting further apart. I mean, in about four years you're going to be going off to college and then we'll both be grown up and not know anything about each other. I want to get to know you more and get closer like we were when we were younger. I was wondering if we can hang out and do things together on Saturdays."

Have a talk with him and tell him you miss the closeness you two had shared.Tell him you want to spend more time with him,invite him to hang out with you one evening and see if you guys can get a brother sister night.Play games,movies,play pool,whatever you both enjoy doing.

thats kinda like me and my bro this year my brother will be a senior and im gonna be a freshman. we're pretty close i guess. we've never gone to school together but over the summer i've done band camp and the ppl that kno him say he always says great stuff bout me. i guess the reason is cuz i dont try to be with him all the time.

Me and my brother are really close. He is six years older than me, but I am very family oriented. At one point, he was drifting away, and I became scared and started thinking of what to do. What I would do is if we were watching TV together, and he would claim he was bored, I would aks "Do you want to go to see a movie?" or something. Or "Do you want to go grab a bite to eat."
Just don't over do it and constantly ask him to hang out.

i think of you 2 could see human beings. i'm particular you would be greater clever off as pals/siblings. i've got on no account heard of brothers and sisters relationship or brothers or sisters with reward. I actually have a youthful sister myself and the very seen me being in a romantic relationship along with her might make me ill.

when i moved out i didn't get to see my brother very much before i move out we were not close at all we would try to kill each other he is 18months younger than me. it was like that for a year then i move closer to him and now we are very close and hang out a lot. wried i know

some just go through phazes where they wanna do their own thing. its a male thing i guess.
he in to ball games? anything of that sorts see if you can get tickets or find out thing's he's into and or just pay attention to what you know and try to talk to him about it. he like politics? try to pay attention to it and debate it with him..stuff like that.
but i think that you'll see as you get older that's when you'll get more from him.
