Hi! I'm 9 weeks pregnant and this past Friday morning I woke up with an odd, dark discharge in my panties. There was no cramping or any pain but I was still worried about miscarraige! Therefore, I called my nurse and she simply said to stay off my feet and relax. Well, it's been nearly two days and the brown discharge is gone. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what the outcome was? I'm just nervous due to a previous miscarraige!! Thanks!

Hi we are on the same page,i am 11wks pg and had some slight spotting so i went to se my dr and he did a ultrasound and a vaginal exam and everything was fine.I have since stopped spotting. My dr told me it is quit normal to have some spotting during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. You are okay.I also had a previous miscarrage and i just gushed blood real bad it was terrible and i still worry about having another miscarriage i guess it is just a normal thing you worry about.Congrats on your pregnancy.

Yes. I had a miscarriage, and then a year later got pregnant unexpectedly. Starting around the same time, (8 or 9 weeks) I started spotting. It kept happening every 5 days, like clockwork. I convinced myself that I would miscarry, but the doc had a heartbeat at 13 weeks (I didn't go to a doc before then). I went on to have a baby girl born 12 hours after her due date, full term and healthy. I know it is terribly frightening to see ANY amount of blood when you are pregnant, but if there is nothing else with it, you are probably OK. And remember, even a tiny drop of blood looks like a huge amount when you are pregnant. Best wishes to you!

Hi! Yes spotting in early pregnancy IS normal. As long as you are not cramping along with the spotting. The spotting should only last for a day or so.... I had a baby girl Sept of 2005, and I had spotting early in that pregnancy--it started out light pink, then later in the day turned brownish--I freaked--but the DOC said it was very normal.

Try not to worry, it will only make it worse. The way I always look at things, is to tell myself....it's going to be what its going to be, whether I worry or not....Plus worrying won't help you none anyway!! Good luck Hun!

I had the very same thing at 8 weeks, it lasted 2 days and never came back. My son is now 11 years old, so the outcome was great! Don't worry, but try to rest a bit until you get out of the first trimester-good luck!

I know some women who have had some bloody "show "on and off throughout their pregnancies. One eventually did miscarry, but two delivered healthy baby girls. Since I'm not a doctor or a nurse I can't tell you for sure But my best advice as the mother of three children is to not worry, and see a doctor. Trying not to worry will help reduce stress, which is not good for you or the baby, and seeing a doctor will allaviate your worries for good.

This is most likely implantation bleeding, but if it returns later in pregnancy tell your doctor you want a scan Ultra Sound done because I had the dark spotting at 18 weeks and ended up having my son at 29 weeks due to placental abruption.

Hi, don't worry about it.. I had the same thing... spotting a dark discharge around the same time as you... and now I have a beautiful daughter who happened to be 10 lbs 8 oz when she was born, and is turning 3 on august 31st..!!! yeah... don't worry, listen to the nurse. relax, elevate your feet and don't worry. besides you need to try and pamper yourself a little.. good luck, and keep me posted on the pregnancy.

I don't think you have to worry if the bleeding is stopped. I have many friends who have had spotting in pregnancy and have gone on to deliver healthy babies. Your placenta could be near the mouth of the uterus and could cause slight bleeding, or you just could have gotten a small tear, etc. Good luck and enjoy the pregnancy! It is a nervous time, but I'm sure everything will be just fine.

Brown discharge is normal in the beginning. The only time you would need to worry about miscarriage is if the spotting was a bright red color. Brown is nothing to worry about. NORMAL.
