It was made in 1999. The chip is brown.What socket is it.The size of it is 2x2in.

it was made in 1999 it has a blue lable on it gives a 5 numbers and says Warranty void if removed.

Someplace on the front of the CPU(either on the metal plate in the center or on a black tab is a set of letters/numbers. It will start with 2-4 letters starting with an A(like A or AX or AXDA) then 4 numbers (like 0900 or 1300) That is the speed in MHz. A 1300 is 1300 MHz or 1.3GHZ. THATS IT!

You will need far more information than that to determine the speed. If there is anything like a product # printed on the chip, try punching it into google and seeing what pops up.

If you look on the chip it should say AMD and them list the speed of the chip. the overall size of the chip is irrelevant to the speed but knowing the year its probably not faster than a 1.4 ghz
