This will only happen when we decide that no one person is above the rest. When we all realize the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Now we are content to let the powerful control us because the majority of us have our basic needs satisfied. As long as we live in a society where "I've got mine and I don't give a damn about yours" this will never change.
But wouldn't it be nice if we all had what we needed. No need for money. No war or hunger or disease. All the surplus goes to eliminating the problems we all face. This could be possible but the rich and powerful would have to be neutralized first.
