I used to have them. Here is what you do: when you just wake up, invent a happy ending to replace the bad dream. It will seem stupid but the door to your subconscious is still open when you just wake up and it will calm you down. Also when you dream keep in mind that you are in control, you are not a victim. I would imagine that in bad situations, I could always beam out at the last second just like in Star Trek. It's stupid but it works!

I would say that they are not remembered. In reports that i have seen, the person having them dont remember anything, but if they sleep with someone, the partner is usually the people cowering in the corner saying, "I see dead people!" Not really...lol...but the person with night terrors vaguely remember the hell they just put their partner through or why their room is in disarray if they live alone. People with this disorder need to see a psychiatrist or psychologist to determine whether or not they need to be admitted into a sleep disorders clinic. Primary care doctor works just as well for a referral.

I never remembered the subject of night terrors, only remembered waking up screaming and my mother coming in to console me. I did become convinced I was going to hell, and that I would not live long. That was more than 50 years ago, so I was wrong on at least one thing!

I watched a movie once, I think it was called lucid dream. In the movie the kid flicked on a light switch and if the light did not come on then he knew he was dreaming. I have tried this method before in my own dreams and shortly after realizing that I couldn't accomplish that which I attempted and knew I otherwise could, I woke up before things got heavy! Try it, it works.

False, people often don't remeber night terrors, all they remember is being extremely frightened and, are also usually confused because, they happen in the deepest stages of sleep.

Generally, if you wake up during a dream, you remember it better. Most people dream all the time but don't remember because they sleep longer.

True, otherwise when the person got up they wouldn't know they had a night terror.
