Most likely you can not use the Nextel for Verizon.
The carriers put locks on their phones in order to prevent the owners of the phones from using their phone with another carrier. I have heard that it is possible to find someone to unlock your phone. There are apparently little shops that sell cell phones but aren't linked to any carrier, and they may have the software to get your phone unlocked.
Online there are also some places where you may be able to get a code to unlock your Nextel phone.
It is possible, I suppose, that your Nextel phone isn't locked; but I doubt that. The SIM cards from different carriers are not compatible with other carriers' phones.

I take position to be with verizon, and that i love it. i'd not swap to the different service. the position I stay, t-cellular has very undesirable service, and a downfall to them is...they do no longer have loose nights and weekends. also, Nextel became offered out through sprint, and in the subsequent 3 hundred and sixty 5 days or 2, there heavily isn't anymore Nextel. i imagine the superb bang for the dollar is with Verizon...further and extra those who i comprehend have switched from Nextel to Verizon.

i dont know know about nextel to verizon, because i've only had cingular and tmobile. but typically... (i.e..) a phone that is T-Mobile based will need an unlock code, sometimes the company will give it to you or maybe you can try one of those little cell phone services store.
or if you're looking at ebay. most sellers will clearify that the phone is unlocked, meaning you can use the phone for pretty much any service.

No, you can not. The networks are using two different technology, so it is just impossible. Nexterl use a propriatery technology, called Iden, and Verizon uses CDMA, a substandard technology provided by Qualcomm.
