My DVR has a built in DVD recorder. I record to the DVRs hard drive first, then edit with the remote. Next I burn to DVD. I get far superior results than using a computer to make DVDs. But then the DVDs my DVR makes can be read by a computer DVD drive if I had a need to access the video files for any reason.

Your TiVo set-top box & a desktop or notebook PC should be connected to a wired or wireless home network.
If you're connecting wirelessly, you will need to buy a TiVo Wireless-G USB Network Adapter.Make sure your network at least supports Wireless-G.

Thats assuming its an actual tivo not a DTV/Dishnetwork model. If you do have something other than an actual standalone tivo, go here and read.
