Sorry, you got the song in my head! The meaning is he's asking the scaramouche (A buffoon) if he will dance (the Fandango is a Spanish dance) The Scaramouche is a stock character in the Italian commedia dell'arte that burlesques the Spanish don and is characterized by boastfulness and cowardliness.

The song "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a parody of opera. Scaramouche is a play and Fandango is a flamenco dance. I don't see the connection.

I see a little silhouette of a man
Scaramouche, Scaramouche will you do the Fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning, very very frightening
Galileo, Galielo

LOL!!!!!!

hmm, in really old italian plays, scaramush ( i am not sure of hte spelling) was one of the "stock characters" and i am pretty sure he was a joker or a clown. the fandango is a dance, i believe. and he is asking if this clown guy will do a dance to be silly and entertaining...
how or why it fits in the whole song , i dont know,

There is no word calles "Scaramush". But "fandango" means
ananimated Spanish or Spanish-American dance in triple time.

I thought it was a reference to a Shakepeare play.
The "Scaramush" is the person's name -- but that's not exactly it.

I wish I could remember the whole thing right now...
