As you probably well know...babies have all sorts of disturbing smells...I just started my 12 month old on whole milk and she smells sooooo sour...it is just her way of getting used to it...have you changed something in your childs diet...is your child acting sick in any ways?? If so talk to your ped. if not wait and see if it passes.

Use process of elimination. If you have been feeding her the same formula all along then it is not that. Have you started any new foods? If so stop that food for two weeks see if it goes away, something could be bothering her stomach. Try asking your doc at your next visit. If this is new and she usually is not smelly I would talk to doctor. I know my little guy is 4 months and has always been very gassy and smelly but it has always been consistant. Her burps should smell pretty much like what is going in

It's the trace gases found in intestinal gas that are responsible for the smell. Hydrogen sulfide produces the rotten egg smell. This type of intestinal gas contains a high level of sulfur compounds from foods that have a high sulfer content. Meat, eggs and cauliflower are three of these foods. Take a close look at your diet, especially recently, and eliminate or reduce any foods that fall into this category. Then pick up any OTC anti-gas product that contains simethicone to rid yourself of the gas that you already have. I can't imagine why anyone would want to "break up" stomach enzymes. You need those.

My children both drank soy formula and they both had smelly burp ups that smelled like something rotten. Most likely its nothing but call your pediatrician if it really concerns you.

Probably just her diet but I know this sounds funny but make sure she doesn't have something stuck in her nose. We have a friend who's son stuck a stryofoam bead (like from a beanbag chair) up his nose and she never knew it was there until she took him to the doctor because his breath was really bad. Okay...I laughed too but it's serious! Just make sure!

BELIEVE IT OR NOT BABYS CAN HAVE ACID REFLUX! I HAVE FOUR KIDS MY 9 YEAR OLD DEALS WITH HEART BURN ALOT. MY NIECE IS 2 AND HAS ALREADY BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH IT. IT WOULDNT BE A BAD IDEA TO TALK WITH YOUR DOCTOR. SOME OTHER THINGS MY NIECE DOES IS PUKE ALOT SHE WILL EVEN WAKE UP AT NIGHT AND BE SICK FOR NO REASON I THINK ITS CAUSE SHE GETS INDEGESTION. HOPE THIS HELPS AND HOPE YOUR BABY IS OK!

what is she eating besides having her formula? she could have acid reflux or something like that. Take her to the doctor and let him know that you are concerned.
