All teens want to look older--a person in their twenties is in their prime. They are young and beautiful, and most of the acne and blemishes from their teenage years are gone. Also, they have an air of sophistication that teens aspire to.

Tru! Cory from That's So Raven or Pim from Phil of the Future are better suited to be the main characters in terms of ages. I liked both of those shows before, but now they're getting kind of annoying/boring. I mean Raven always gets physic visions and tries to meddle in things most of the time, and "for some reason" Phil and his family can never get back to the future. Surprising! Well, I saw the one with them finally going back, but Phil returns to kiss Keely(which is cute!) and forgets to bring Curtis. Some excuse will keep the producers from ending the shows!

Well, most television shows only higher people that are 18 and older because that way they don't have to have a lot of legal guardians around the set. Plus teens/kids can only work a certain number of hours in a day and they have to have a tutor/teacher on set at all times. It's just to much work to deal with when you can just get actors/actresses who look the same age, but don't have a bunch or guidelines to follow.

First it is not just on Disney. Look at the WB. The guys that are supposed to be in their mid teens are almost 30. They must be Gillette's favorite customers, with all the shaving the guys must do.
I think one reason they hire older actors and actresses is because they can hold them under contract as they are over 18, plus they are more likely to stay looking the same in their 20's than in their teens and also they can make 20 somethings do allot more stuff than they can teens. (i.e. nudity, language etc.)

i does not say they have ruined the magic yet they have extremely replaced it or further an entire new class. So, I agree somewhat yet no longer completely. most of the flicks recently are pc movies, too, and not the old school lively. Now you may admit that "Enchanted" replaced into staggering. terrific of the two worlds, lively and stay human beings and respectable songs! severe college Musical movies have been made for television and have been exceedingly sturdy via fact. enable's wait and notice how #3 is which would be interior the theaters. sturdy Q!

It isn't just Disney. Look at Desperate Housewives. The gardener. I am sure they are looking for a hunky guy.
Older actors or actresses have better memory control for the speaking lines required. They are more mature.

Any studio's actors actually being the age they are portraying is an event that soon ends. Mickey Rooney was still portraying kids into his thirties I believe.

i've been asking myself the same question for years now...probably because they can't get talented actors/actresses anymore at that age. plus, they can get more hours out of an adult than they would a person under 18.

Many actors in their early twenties can pass as high school students, yet they are mature actors who are not subject to child labor laws.
