I was just thinking about something I read a while ago. Some people say that a blackhole is like a funnel system, with immense gravitational force. So, a theory comes up saying if you could manage travelling through a blackhole, (No way in hell this would happen) you would come out in a totally different dimention, where time progresses differently. For example, let's say you compared two people, one on Earth, and one in this other "Dimention". (Yea it would be impossible I know) The person on Earth ages 50 years, while the person on the flipside of the blackhole ages mere minutes. Do you think this is possible?
Just wanted to see what everyone thinks!

First of all, black holes have been scientifically shown to exist. As for other dimensions, right now they exist only in the mathematical system involved with so-called string theory.
As for using a black hole to travel into other dimensions or whatever, theoretically that's possible. Most black holes spin very rapidly (..these are called Kerr Black Holes) and if a spaceship could enter one of these black holes at precisely the right angle it might use the black hole's energy.
In general, science does not know what the deepest regions of a black hole are like because the known laws of physics just don't work there.

Blackholes are squished big things, like suns. The reason they are "black" is because the matter of the original thing has squished into a very, very tiny space. Light itself can't escape the intense gravity here.
If our sun, for example went through a colapse, the earth would continue orbiting around it. Everything would be normal, (except we would soon freeze to death!).
If you were to aim a spaceship directly into the black hole that was our sun, you would experience nothing unusual until you got fairly close to where the sun colapsed. At that point, there would be a tidal difference (that is, the front of the space ship would experience a different pull than the back of the space ship). The ship would be ripped apart!
If you could build a space ship that couldn't be ripped by tidal forces, you would experience something unusual indeed. As you approached the event horizon this is the zone where nothing including light escapes) you would see the universe as you normally do--- you would see the black hole, as it were, as a dark sphere and the stars and planets all around.
When you hit the event horizon, you would see blackness, as if it were the earth and you would see the universe expanding above the flat horizon, like looking across the ocean on a starry night sort of.
Once you crossed the horizon, you would see everything in reverse. You would see the blackness all around you and the universe would appear as a ball of stars behind you, like a planet.
You would have left our space time sort of...its difficult to explain.
Time for you anyway, would continue as normal. You wouldn't be any younger. If you could somehow return to earth, you would have to go faster than light and because of that, you would be going backwards in time. You would reach earth before you left (sort of-- that's not how it really works-- in fact, you would create a rip in time and create a new universe in the process!).
Anyway, avoid Black Holes-- very difficult to get out of alive.

...no, you would be ripped apart as you enter the "black hole" because it has such emmense gravitational force.
Say you are going in head first, gravitational strength varies exponentially with distance, so your head would feel many time stronger a force than your feet would. Your head would rip off of your body. And because of time dialation, it would take....a verrrrrryyy long time, maybe even years.
so yea...that "twin paradox" age difference can be obtained w/out going through a black hole anyways, just travel at a close speed to the speed of light.

maybe, but you may be able to get to other places in the universe using wormholes. scientists are going to try to create worm holes out of miniature black holes they are going to attempt to create.these worm holes will be able to trans port people and objects to other places in the universe in the blink of an eye. we will really need worm holes as the earth is getting hotter because the sun is getting hotter. in about 500 years we will have to move to other planets. so, I dont think you will age mere minutes, only you will end up somewhere else in the universe. And, blackholes exist!

According to the math, it is theoretically possible, and astronomers have located black holes to help support the math. But though these things exist and may act in a predictable way, as you say, no way we would ever get a chance to try it out.
