I was the same way, however it improved. Honestly I had to get over it because I had to take a crowded train to work for 3 years and I joined a large church where people like to give you a hug. So it really broke down by the people from church who were touching me out of kindness.
I think yu have to simply work through it mentally. It may take some time. Try prayer, meditation and affirmations to tell yurself that it does not bother you at all.

i have a similar problem i don't know if we can consider ourselves weird but i have problem with germs and touching doors etc.. public toilets that sort of thing i also don't like people touching me or being in "my zone" i get clausto, anyway the problem could be looked at as being serious but by who? by people that love other people contact..some people cant get enough of people and when the more reserved types like us show a disliking for something that other people handle on a day to day basis, we get called odd balls , i have learnt to accept yourself for who you are , if you don't like being around alot of people because of what ever reason than so be it , its okay, but..if you're noticing other sign of total paranoia or keeping yourself totally away, then you might want to consider talking to someone about it, to try and figure it out , there is a very fine line between what you've said and other probs that look the same but have worse consequences if you're questioning it then you may be interested in seeing a change in yourself..remember, you're the best judge of whats best for you..good luck

I don't like people touching me or hanging around to close to me either, even if I know them really well! But, it hasn't gotten any worse, a little better even.
If you feel that it is a problem or if your worried about it, talk to your doctor! They might have some insight as to whats going on.

Wow, I thought I was alone in this. I am the exact same way. I hate people invading my "bubble"..and why strangers like to HUG me..what's up with that? I dont KNOW you, so don't TOUCH me. Also, I don't go out to clubs and bars, because they're so crowded that people will constantly bump into me or I have to maneuver my way through people, and I hate it. I'm a loner.

If it has gotten to the point where your touching problem is interfering with your life you might want to see a therapist. It could be a mental disorder that can be treated with medication or it might be a deep seated problem that you buried because of a traumatic experience as a child.

I hate that too.
Some people have no concept of personal space.
In a bar or club its expected because of the crapt conditions. But in a supermarket or department store its not. Frankly it makes them look like a pickpocket looking for his mark.
Asking them politely but firmly to not stand within your personal space might help.

It sounds like maybe the beginnings of agorophobia? You should let your doctor know, and see a therapist. You want to catch it early; agorophobics can get so bad they never leave their house.

Is it people you don't know or all people?
I feel that way about people I don't know. But affection (hugs and kisses) in my family is a very common commodity.
