First of all, chocolate does not give you pimples. I have the same problem as you do. Acne begins inside your body as a type of bacteria. I was prescribed an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections and it worked. Along with that, I use a prescription topical ointment called Metrogel. I've tried Proactive, Neutrogena, Clearasil, rubbing alcohol, astringents, etc. I realize each person is different, but maybe this will work for you. Drinking a lot of water also helps to keep your skin hydrated. Good luck...I know you are frustrated, but don't give up!

See a dermatologist. There are many new prescription medications that come out every few years. So there are many things that you probably haven't tried. One new one is called Benzaclin, which works pretty well.
Acutane is really the best and strongest acne medication. After about six months it will completely clear everything up in most people. After years of trying various prescriptions, I went on Acutane and wondered why my dermatologist waited so long to try something that would completely get rid of all the acne in six months. Seriously look into it.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

See a Doc about getting on Accutane. i am 26 and have tried everything out there, prescriptions and non scripts. Accutane is a miracle drug! It does have side effects but in my case I did not care. The whole idea about eating the right foods is BS (it doesnt matter what you eat says many derms. ive been too if u have "real acne") the creams and washes are all great for people who get a few zits but for people who have real acne something that works from the inside out like accutane is what is best. good luck!!

One of those face lamps that give off a certain wavelength (sorry can't be more specific). I know someone who used one and his acne was like really bad. It helped it clear quite a bit. Then he went on a gap year to Africa and when he came back all his acne had disappeared. He reckons that might have been the sun.
Also look into chinese herbal medicine. Might be an imbalance that can be sorted out and get rid of the acne for once and for all. The longer an inbalance is left untreated, the more complicated it becomes to treat as far as chinese meds is concerned.

In agreeance with most of the people who answered this question, ProActiv is a really great system. HOWEVER - just remember that acne has to get worse before it gets better. A good facial cleanser will bring more acne to the surface to get rid of it, and prevent more from coming in.

I feel your pain. We're in the exact same boat. You can try: drink more water because it flushes the impurities out of your body. Wash your face several times a day with a gentle soap (washing and exfoliating TOO much can actually do more harm than good). Try not to touch your face. Apply pimple drying lotion. Eat a healthy diet (you don't have to avoid chocolate like someone suggested, there are no known foods to cause acne, or cure it for that matter). Good luck!

Alright, this is going to sound weird, but try to flip your pillows every night. When you wake up there are dead skin cells still there and the next night comes around and u end up sleeping on those dead things so naturally it will make u break out so make sure to flip those things (lol). Another weird tip is instead of using the expensive stuff use regular hand soap (the kind with those cute backgrouds) as ur face wash, and dab ur face not rub. You can always try not to touch your face and wear less make up (mainly cuz its hot out and that will break out/ dry ur skin more easily). Oh, last thing, drink more water and it should help clear your skin. I hope everything goes well! God Bless!

Avoid some foods and ingredients (this helped me): MSG (flavoring in Chips or anything that is salty), certain chocolate, too much caffeine, milk and nuts (especially cashews).
Topical solutions don't really work but make sure you moisterize everyday w/product that is oil free. If you dry out your skin with all those products you are going to stimulate more oil production.
Oh, keep your hands away from your face.

Don't eat much candy or things that include fat so far if you do..
If you wear make up on your face then don't wear that much anymore.. the best thing is not to wear makeup at all. it's not really healthy for the skin anyway.
Wash your face a couple of times a day and sometimes use soap.. don't use the soap too often though because it dries your skin and that's not healthy either. Good luck.
