Well? Do you think hope is something that you need to stay positive and obtain your goals, or is hope detrimental, and just gives you false ideas when you'll never really be able to amount to anything or make any of your dreams come true? See, my hope is to become a reporter and work with the BBC in the UK, but in REALITY, I will probably end up being something crappy in some crappy town in crappy America.

DISCUSS the theory.

or is reality the attempt to deny hope?

Ahah, good question.

I don't know what I believe. Maybe hope is inspiring, and maybe it's just B.S.

Hope, is the ability to envision a better state of being.

It has nothing to do with opposing or confirming reality.

Reality is not your present state, but rather the forces of nature, human action, metaphysical reality, etc. etc. etc. that are at work in the world.

Hope is something that human beings are able to experience because we do not have all power.

If I am marooned on a remote island where there is fresh water, lumber, fish and fruit for food etc. etc. etc. the reality is the elements of life and the support of life that exist there.

If I am a weak person, I will sit around saying the "reality" is that I am doomed and there is no hope.

Actually the reality is just those basics facts of the circumstances that I mentioned.

Hope or despair occur in the mind.

If I am able to envision a plan whereby I take advantage of the resources available to me to improve my situation and eventually deliver myself, then I have engaged in hope, and through my own determination I can make that reality.

If I do not have much personal resolve, then I will fall victim to my attitude of despair despite the reality that I had everything I needed to make do.

You want to be a reporter for the BBC.

How badly do you want to be that reporter.

If you don't do anything about it, then you have little hope.

The truth is, that if you sit down now, examine your courses of action, the plan you want to follow, admit to the reality of time, patience, setbacks, obstacles, etc. etc. etc. and account for all of these contingencies, you have the power to make this happen.

Hope is the ability to stay committed in your belief that you have the power, despite the weariness that sets in because of your lack of patience.

Got it. Now go out and get it.

For the most part I believe it is. If you can't change something you can only hope. But if you can...that is not hope. That is doing something about it. Hard work and perseverance will get you moving in the right direction.

However, your tone of voice clearly indicates you need an attitudinal adjustment. As it is you could never get a job in America...let alone a "crappy town." That is reality.

That said, you are in denial but good luck with the BBC.

This depends on your point of view. I believe you should never give up the belief that anything can happen to you at any time, and you should never give up on trying and working hard.

However, I also think that everything that happens to us in life is perfect, according to God's plan to improve us spiritually. So when we are hoping for something in our world to be different, we are really emotionally fighting with the perfect life that God has already given us according to what we need. From that sence, giving up hope and surrendering can bring great peace. But never give up on the idea that anything can happen. Keep trying.

Not at all. You can hope and still face reality. You can "hope" you will get a new car for Christmas, but the reality remains that that is highly unlikely. That doesn't mean you cannot hope and by doing so are denying reality.

Chow!!

Hope is not detrimental, but attitudes can be, which yours is. If you want to work for the BBC in the UK, go THERE, and crappy America will be rid of you.

Hope is the manifestation of reality. If you think you will end up with a crappy job, then you probably will because you will not have the courage to risk failure to become great. However, if you have hope you can risk failure.

hope is just a word. if you have the drive and ambition to bullshit your way to the top, you will probably get there. that is the way its done. reality is someones dream, its only fabricated. the true reality is people as we speak are dying the most horrific deaths we can imagine. we could help, but we dont. theres the denial of reality.

Reality is relative. You are already calling things crappy that you have never seen. That sounds like the opposite of experience.

Ambition is what you need, and it has nothing to do with hope.Ambitious people go for their goals.Not-ambitious people
(like me)go for what they can do with least effort. For me,that little effort was University degree in Pharmacy in Belgrade.I was good at studying, and have done it easily. But now I don't want to be bothered by looking for the best payed job in my profession;and
work too hard and have a mess of appointments in my head.
I want a piece of freedom too.
The question is:
Are you ready to sell your life and work so much? Will it be easy for you,(were you born for that job),or do you want to do it only for the sake of money?Think.

hope is essential for evryone to hv in order to move forward... it keeps us moving...

reality is what is is meant to happen. and watever happens, alwayz happens for a reason. human usualy isnt satisfied with things they have in life. Thus, we somehow corelate hope and reality.

I alwayz believe to hope is to make reality happen. Hoping indirectly make us work for things and not juz completely let it go... and at least, an outcome is there- eventhough it is not as perfect as the picture in the original hope...

dis is a piece of my thought thru my personal experiences...
