What do you think about drinking?

I'm 14, and i was wondering what your opinion was of underage drinking, and just alchol all together.

I went to an island once in the carribean when I was about 16 years old. It was legal for my littler sister and I do buy and consume alchohol. I thought that was awesome! I think drinking tastefully such as a glass of wine or a cooler or some kind somewhat okay - better if you are of age though. It's always fun to go into a restrant, bar, or store and pick out a new kind of drink. It's all in moderation though. People that go over board are th ones that give alchohol a bad name.

Wait at least until you are in college. You'll still do stupid stuff you'll probably regreat for the rest of your life, but at least you'll be out of high school.
When you drink at parties with other underagers, it's like this contest to see how much alcohol you can take. The more you drink, the cooler you are. That is such an imature view on it. Stay away from that. You'll just get drunk, feel good, feel like crap, and feel like even more crap the next morning. Plus, you really don't do much intelligent thinking when you're inebriated. Some of it's just funny, but it can turn very bad.
Just stay away from it until you're much older. Drunk sex with your spouse is incredibly fun, and you don't have to worry about who you made out with. I have a lot of regrets that resulted from drinking.

Drinking is only okay in moderation. Wait a few years to do it. I'm not saying you have to wait till you're 21, but at age 14, one of the reasons you're not technically supposed to drink is that your liver doesn't process the alcohol as well and since your brain is literally still growing, heavy drinking can hinder its growth.

One glass of wine at a religious occasion with your family or something is perfectly fine. People do that all the time and since it's done responsibly then nothing bad comes of it.

I don't mind drinking as long as you are responsible and in my opinion 14 isn't old enough to be responsible.

My dad was killed by a drunk driver. I have met many people who have had their life shattered by drunk driving (yes I know drinking in general doesn't always lead to drunk driving) However, one case in particular was a girl who was almost 18 about to graduate she told her mom there would be no drinking at a party- there was. Then her and her friends decided to that they wouldn't drive but they did- she died that night after driving, loosing control and hitting a tree. Her mom speaks for MADD, in her speech she says " They said they weren't going to drive but as the night went on some drunk girls started making their decisions for them...." That is what can happen - you can think you know what you will do but then when the alcohol kicks in sometimes your brain just leaves and you make horrible decisions. Decisions that could lead to your death or severe injuries. During your teen years life is complicated enough that alcohol really doesn't need to be added to the mix.

I'm 14 too, and I'm not going to try drinking when I'm underage. It smells gross anyway, and I know a few people my age who drink and I keep telling them to stop but they just think I'm stupid for not trying it. Don't try it at all! Don't give in to peer pressure!

I am 21 and just the thought of alcohol makes me sick. I did drink when I was a minor, it may seem like fun at first, but when the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve and you are over the toilet puking instead of kissing your hunny, you realize how much it isn't fun.

If you are planning on being successful in life I would suggest to not drink ant alcoholic beverages until you are old enough and don't let anybody pressure you. Once you get on the wrong track it will be hard to get things right be smart and wait.

its really alot of fun. and if youre not going to drink now..u cant do it when ur like 40. i say live up ur teenage years but dont go overboard. learn how to control yourself. being drunk is fun but u have to think about the after effect. for instance..hangovers..are hell. so just have fun and be careful.

also remember liquor before beer, youre in the clear. ALWAYS remember that..if u do it the other way around ull get sick.

if u like light beer..coors light goes down smoothly. other than that i prefer heinekens.

for liquor..my favorite is a vodka 7 or ice cold baileys.

Why do you need to drink?? For pleasure or for curiosity?? Well, if you just wish to try it's alright but bear in mind it can be addictive and it's not too good for your health if taken in excess. There are so many kinds of beverages so why alcohol??
