I wear a lot of mascara..let me see if i can say this so that it can be understood. when your looking at your eyes in the mirror.. kind of tilt your head back a little , keeping eye contact with yourself. and raise your eyebrows. this gives you more room for the applicator to go up from your lashes without hitting your brow bone. and just be careful not push your lashes hard enough to make them hit your eyelid. just go slowly from the base to the tips. my lashes always look great!!

Hi Haley, Its not a stupid question, you have to find your own personal nack" of applying, I cannot apply mascara with my mouth closed, (my b/f finds this hilarious) but I always rub any excess off the wand, (the wand I think is the most important, as if you get one you like and can apply well then stick to it)..then I tilt my nose up and get the wand right from the bottom of the top lash and gently blink and brush/pull it up to the top of your lash and that gives it a full and not clumpy look, it also goes on to the bottom lashes when you blink and you'll see when its right. Once you get used to your way of doing it, you'll be able to do it in the dark, Best of luck hope this helps xxx

Bring your face close to the mirror, tilt your face to one side so you have a better angle, and apply the mascara very carefully and slowly, there's no need to rush it. If you accidently get some mascara where you don't want it, wet the tip of a cotton swab with water and some liquid soap if you want, and gently wipe it away. Good luck!

It takes practice. I used to poke my eyes the first couple of times I used it. Curling them might make the job easier. Q-Tips are a Godsend in correcting mistakes, or try the Wilson Eye-tees, which have a pointed end to get into corners.

Do you have a shaky hand? I don't have this problem. Maybe try a clear mascara or start applying it further away from the lids?
Also, brown/black is easier to wipe away than straight black, should you make a mistake.

Only apply it to the top lashes and hold the wand steady and blink a few times so that your lashes just touch the wand then smoth it through with one of those little brushes.
good luck!
