I am watching this awful "Castaway" movie, and I just can't stand him. I liked "old" Tom Hanks from "Bosom Buddies" and "Bachelor Party." That's about it though. Your thoughts?

Tom Hanks is one of the greatest actors ever. He has bad movies and he has GREAT movies. He just keeps acting. I like the fact that he takes the chance just to play different characters and isn't sterotyped into one role.

I like him. He has taken on some very mature roles, and difficult ones.....I think the best Oscar speech I have ever heard was the one he gave after winning for Philadelphia. He is very cute when paired with Meg Ryan (Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail) and he is one of the few Hollywood personalities that you NEVER read stink about. And he loves his wife.

I really liked him in everything I'd seen until The Da Vinci Code. Not because I have religious objections to the film but because for some reason he managed to give a performance entirely devoid of charm or personality.
Hope it was a one off blip.

I loved him in Everything he did from Bussom Buddies to even Terminal.
You had to have liked Forest Gump or a League of their Own.

He's a good to excellent actor. I met him casually a couple of times (not introduced or anything, just coincidental) and he comes across as a nice, regular guy.

I think he is one of the finest actors to appear on screen in years!
Big was also a good movie; Forrest Gump was another!!

He isn't one of my favorite actors, but I Loved him in The Green Mile and Philadelphia.

I've been told my whole life that's the celebrity I resemble. I like his movies so I guess that's ok.
