Wow...people still use that term? I thought that was an 80's thing.
Everyone is stereotyped in high school. Best you can do is be yourself and find a crowd that "yourself" fits into, and live with what you are called. It will all go away after your senior year. There isn't that much stereotyping and classifications in college.

Because thats the way society is, it can't be helped, but so are emos, goths, ghetto-fabulous,nerds, etc. They are stereotyped to not just preps.

In my experence, the "preps" were the assholes who had rich parents and never worked for a thing in their lives. They put down others for not having the same expensive clothes as them and not getting brand new BMWs on their 16th birthdays. That's why.

preps aren't the only one cause im a prep and i know how it feels like, but usually everyone gets sterotyped. i was a cheerleader and i got sterotyped for being a dumd blonde, which is not true.
