I think wearing make up is fine. Lip gloss, concealer and light use of powder shoulddefinatly be allowed. Eye shadow and eyeliner and defifnaly accetable in moderation. I think your protcal is fine. If you do feel you want to tone it down, chose an eyeshadow in a slighly shimering nude color. Use a brown eyliner and only apply on the bottom and not on the inner hald near your tear duct. A half done bottom lid gives the affect of a more natural looking eye. Go for a pink lip gloss. Nothing too dark. And instead on masccara, get an eyelash curler. Opens up the eyes without the color. Just remeber to be your self and as long as you are happy with how you look, you are set!

Yes, I am 13 and I have been wearing it since I was 11 also. I wear black eyeliner, and black thick mascara, then some lip gloss, and some light eyeshadow, except for when I have dance, then I have to wear that god awful blue, on my eyes (lol).
I do not think you are too young, and it is good that you do not wear foundation, I don't either, it can give you really bad zits.
Plus having a good appearance is a great thing, it really helps in high school, it boosts your self esteem.
I think that a 13 year old girl wearing make-up is a good idea, as long as it is not tacky.

Maybe, it could cause problems later in life though. Like break-outs, then you use more makeup to hide it, and it continues.
Your also taking a risk, not everybody knows your only 13. My cousin has a friend, I thought she was 15 and she was only 12! It was kind of weird to think about....I mean, who else made that mistake?
Besides, what do you need makeup for? Eyeliner, mascara..ever wonder why they call it concealer?
You should be getting compliments about how you look WITHOUT the makeup. Don't sell yourself short!
Also, you should ask yourself why your asking this question. Did someone say something, or did you just come up with it on your own? Either way, it seems like you might be having doubts about it.
If your parents think it's ok, and you do to, then I don't see why you can't. Just don't over do it!

Yes, I think that it is alright. As long as you wear it right and don't end up looking like a clown. People make a huge deal about young girls wearing makeup like it is a bad thing, almost as if they were drinking alcohol or something. Make up comes off and it fun an appealing to young kids. But as you get older it becomes a pain in the *** because it is a waste of time in the morning to put it on, but without it certain people would look ugly. So it is a give and take.

When I was 13 the only make up I was allowed to wear was very light blue and white eyeshadow and some lip gloss. I wanted to wear more, but I'm kinda glad I wasn't allowed to because I didn't look like a....well yeah.
So long as you keep it simple and light and don't look trashy doing it, I say you're fine. People just assume that a 13 year old wearing make up that they're going overboard with it and are trying to look older when really it makes them look trashy.

I think you have to do what you feel comfortable with. It sounds like you aren't wearing make-up in a provocative way. If you wear make-up to make yourself feel special, go for it! But if it' s because your friends wear make-up or you feel you can't go out in public without putting some on, that may be an issue. Challenge yourself by going out without make-up, it can be really liberating!
I'm 18 and I've been using make-up since I was about 12. It's fun to experiment and try different ways of putting it on. Don't let anyone tell you that you're too young, but use your own judgement and ask whether the situations you are in are appropriate for make-up (like is it OK to wear at school, when you see certain family members etc.)
Love life!

My daughter is 12, I started at 11 letting her wear lipgloss, and a few months later eyeshadow, lightly. She isn't into a lot, now she wears a little mascara, you can barely tell its on. Other girls her age wear a lot but she likes the natural look. I've been to her school a lot, girls your age wear a little makeup. None I've seen over do it. I don't think you are to young, as long as you keep it light.

It's just fine. But don't put too much on, at such a young age it's easy to overload. The important thing is to feel pretty! When I was that age, I made a few mistakes. I suggest not wearing colored lip gloss and eye makeup at the same time, it looks cheap. You can try pale colors, right now a natural look is very in.

I've been wearing it since age 14. Sometimes I wish I had laid off the foundation, since, over the years, it kind of trashes your skin, no matter how well you clean. On the other hand, if I'd been allowed to use eye shadow and liner earlier in life, I'd probably have been more polished looking earlier in life, because I'd have had more practice applying it correctly before college.
As long as you don't look like a hoochimama, and keep it in moderation, I don't see why not.
The flipside, of course, is that wearing makeup is sometimes construed as an indicator that a female is of dating age, i.e., at the age of consent. You don't want to be putting out the vibe that you're 18 if you're not.
Then, of course, there's the whole question of why you feel compelled to wear makeup. For me, my drill sergeant father would speak horribly of the soldiers' wives who went out of the house without "fixing their hair and face", and I suppose some of that wore off on how I perceived women were *expected* to look. To this day, if I leave home without makeup, I feel naked.
If I were talking to myself at age 13, I'd tell myself to wear it occassionally for fun, to practice applying it often enough to know what I was doing, but not to wear it every day. While we're on the subject of fun, you can't really have any in makeup anyway. You can't play soccer in it. You can't ski in it. You can't run or swim in it.
Long answer short: Yes, it's okay, but if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't.

I think it's fine to wear make-up at your age. Just be aware of the image you're presenting to others. This will obviously depend on what you're wearing, how you're wearing it, and how you carry yourself and the places you go etc. Ask your parents and friends for feedback on how you look and then you'll get a complete picture. I wore make-up religiously when I was at school - about the same amount as you. I am older now, and don't wear any except when I'm going out, so I don't think it's a big deal. Don't worry too much about it, just have fun with it!
