Its been a long time since the film was in the theater, but I distinctly remember at least one brief scene that isn't on the VHS or DVD version of the film. The scene I recall is an extended underwater scene of Elsa and Indy escaping from the fiery inferno of the catacombs. In the VHS/DVD version of the film, it cuts from them taking deep breaths and disappearing underwater directly to them emerging from the drain grate in the street.

I'm fairly certain that there were some other scenes that were cut, but I can't remember specifics of any. I haven't been able to locate any information on why these scenes were cut.

Does anyone have any information regarding this? Thanks!

I'm not sure but my best guess would be that you probably saw a director's cut verson of the film. Since it was long time ago it's probable that they made some cuts for todays releases of the movie.

Try and look for a director's cut version.
