A major misconception is that Cyke's beams are heat based, they actually are pure concussive force and have no heat component to them whatsoever.

Whether a full intensity blast could effect Wolverine's skeleton would probably depend more on the whim of the current writer, but I would think current canon would suggest that he could not destroy adamantium, more effectively he could strip the flesh from Wolverine's body far faster than trying to destroy his skeleton.

No. Adamantium is the second strongest known substance in the Marvel universe, and it has a high melting point, so Cyclops' blasts don't generate enough heat to melt adamantium.

Well armed sheep has it right. In an issue of the Thing, where the Super Skrull was impersonating the X Men, he zapped Ben Grimm and Ben said to himself, Wait, I've been on the receivng end of Cyclops' blasts before, and I know they ain't hot! So he realized that it was someone else impersonating the X Men and was thus able to figure out who it really was and how to beat him. Cyclops' eye beams are force blasts (kinetic energy impact without any matter for transmission of the energy), not heat rays.

yes, in the comic age of Apocalypse cyclops shot off Logan's hand, this destroyed his hand completely, the claws were still there because they retract into the forearm no the hand. so yes he lost his hand due to Cyclops full blast.
