They are characters on a children's television show that does not address sexuality. It is aimed at an age set where homosexuality does not need to be addressed other than the fact that families come in all different shapes and sizes. Therefore, any rumors about Bert and Ernie are just that...rumors. Their sexuality is irrelevant to the show.

Sorry. You can't have gender bias when there is no gender. Sexual orientation was the furthest thing from the minds of Jim Henson and his team. You could just as easily point the finger at Mr. Rodgers and Captain Kangaroo. But Mr. Rodgers was a highly decorated marine and Bob Keshan was also a war hero in the Pacific. When you hear about people placing gender roles on puppets and preschool programs, it is because their homophobic fears are showing through.

No.. childrens show. The count is a vampire, and he never feeds on anyone. (he's a vegetarian) Reminds me of the Family Guy spoof of Bert and Ernie.

They are puppets. Not possible for inanimate objects to be either hetero or homosexual. You need working anatomy and a live brain and emotions and feelings for that sort of thing, my naive friend!

It's a joke that they're homosexual, but it's probably not true, because:
1. They're on a children's tv show.
2. It's hard to be homosexual if you're a puppet.

No, that was a big urban legend going around several years ago -- not true. They're just asexual roomies.
