Not a problem for those of us with open minds. It's just two *people* (adults who can consent) showing their love for each other. No big deal.

Makes sense yes, excepet that what people fail to realize is that the reason it's not legal isn't because it's wrong or disgusting or because the government is morally opposed... It's not legal because every single statute and law in every single state in this country that deals with marriage is explicitely written for a "husband" (man) and a "wife." It's a matter of symantics. If gay man A and gay man B were 'married' and subsequently got a divorce, all the laws about how the wife could suck her ex dry of all his money (so to speak) wouldn't pertain nor exist anymore. So what the states essentially have to do is change every single one of those statutes and laws to say "Partner A" and "Partner B" rather than husband and wife. So really, what's easier, changing the entire nations laws and statutes that have been in play for a couple hundred years, or giving gay couples the choice to be joined in a "civil union?"
hope that helps anyway xo

Morally, I'm against it, because thats the way I was raised, and those are my beliefs, however I don't let that cloud the logical side of my brain, and that part of me says that is just isn't that big of a deal.
I can't think of one reasonable, logical, well thought out, legal reason to keep two gay people from getting married.
I say what the hell, let em go for it.
By the way...I'm a moderate conservative and registered Republican. Just a little FYI

I find it hipocritical that you always call for the seporation of church and state but the only ones that are fighting hard against gay marrage are the bible pounders. The rest of us dont give a crap. live and let live, You have all said that. Isnt it suppose to be a free country. have ya ever said to each his own?
Dont you not think that crime and drugs and coruption of goverment pose a bigger threat to your so called family values then a few fudge packers that want to hook up as a couple?

Government should stay out of the marriage business and leave it to the professionals, the churches. Besides heterosexuals have not done such a good job with this marriage thing, how much worst could gays do to it?

Like yourself, I do not care what they do in their houses, behind closed doors, because that is their private business.
But I do not agree with the concept of a "gay marriage", since it is a contradiction in itself, linguistically and philosophically.
By definition, marriage is the binding partnership between a man and a woman, intended to be life-long, for the purpose of raising a family. This cannot be changed by some bumbling busy-bodies who happen to be homosexual and now want their cake and eat it.
I have nothing personally against homosexuals and would not do or wish them any harm. But I feel that the overly aggressive and intrusive attitude of many homosexuals, intending to change our society and make it favourable for them, goes too far. We, the majority of normal people, should resist such attempts, as they are bound to undermine and eventually destroy society (as they have done in other civilisations - like Greece and Rome - before).

I would like to leaf this one alone.
Call me nutty. But....
My roots of faith run deep.
Let the logs fall as they may, but I am still strong as a Maple tree Known' that God intended man for woman and woman for man.
I just think the world will be in a state of dry rot if we compermise our standards.
I might be standing in the shade, but thats the way it is.
As sure as autum leafs fall, God has ordained Marriage as a Holy Sacrament.
When we prune back the excess branches we are all Children of God.

So, you could care less what they do in their house? what about with children or drugs or fatting foods?
I say if you let them marry then you have to allow polygamy and incest.
If you are a guy and can marry a guy, why not two? Would that be "weird"? If you think so you should open your mind! Also a man should be allowed to marry his brother, don't be homophobic! Join the party.

all the men who answered that it is a problem must be really insecure in their masculinity. poor things.
also, it sounds like a lot of them have been brainwashed by fox "news." marriage is a religious institution. the government shouldn't be involved at all. but since it is, it should be equally available to every american citizen.
