It is a state law, unless episodes crossed multiple state lines or kidnapping then it becomes federal and there is usually no statue of limitations on heinious sexual assualt however percentage of cases that are successfully prosecuted drastically reduces after time, due to degredation of memory and evidence.
Any Victims Right advocacy group can help you start the process and I believe there is a number in the front of the phone book for the DA under State Gov't.

I just finished training to be a volunteer at my local rape crisis center and they went over this. It will depend on the state law, and the age of the victim. Here it is 7 years, but can be longer the younger the victim is.
If you are looking for more resources, check out www.rainn.org. You can also call my local rape crisis center at 505-266-7711 for 24-7 support. I know we just got an 888 number, but I apologize I am not sure what it is.
Hope this info helps, just contact your local DA's office and ask them how to file.

ok right here it somewhat is, as quickly as the government are called out on a kinfolk disturbance they evaluate the considered, take statements from the two events and evaluate it to the call out information. form this element they might desire to end who's the aggressor and then make a arrest and confident by skill of regulation they might desire to come again to this end regardless of what they might fill. they then decide what point of infraction has been made and place a charge on the salient. this might charge is then arraigned and the DA takes the case and from this element the perp is frequently enable bypass on his or her very own have confidence and the DA the two drops the case or Perseus it and a herring is desperate if challenged.
