My home town of Three Rivers, MI has the Water Carnival every year. Runs for about a week, with a huge flea market, Ox roast & a carnival midway. The festivities end with a fireworks display and a Parade of actual floats on the river around Memory Isle. When I was about 7 or so I was tapped to fill in for a sick child as the living prop on one of these floats, I still remember the thrill of riding down main street (that year the river was unable to sustain floats) and having the crowds lining the streets cheering for me, well that's what if felt like to a 7 yr old kid ;-). I think they've renamed it since I've moved away to the Water Festival, or it might have always been officially called that but it's still the water carnival to me.

St. Patrick's Day is a important social gathering here in Savannah. colleges close, private companies close their doors, hundreds of visitors come into city....and for a pair days it extremely is sheer pandemonium. Then there is the music pageant, which runs for 2 weeks, and likewise the action picture pageant....the two remarkable, cultural events. additionally, between the city and the sea coast section, there are rather some smaller yet relaxing celebrations like 4th of July events, the Seafood pageant, sea coast Bum Parade, Picnic interior the Park, Sand paintings pageant, Pirates Fest', Sidewalk Arts pageant, the iciness Carnival ('fake' snow is introduced in for the youngsters and that they like it!), the Christmas Boat Parade, and Oktoberfest on River highway. i'm optimistic there is greater that i'm forgetting on the 2nd. Oh nicely, it extremely is in elementary terms a perfect previous city and there continuously seems to be like something going on. great place to bypass to!

We have Riverfest. National acts from "yesteryear" are brought in for the four day festival. There's also a taste of the town which has a bunch of local restaurants/bars have areas to try what they have to offer. Fireworks are launched one of the nights, as well. Finally, there's a carnival midway over all four days.

I live in Wine Country, Sonoma, CA, north of the Golden Gate. At the end of the summer we have a harvest festival. A parade commemorates the family heritage of local wineries and our Hispanic community. Folks dress in their native folkloric costumes with traditional song and dance of their native communities. Lots of great food and wine on the Sonoma Plaza. If you are in the area at the end of August, check it out!
