I was a junior in high school. I had the stomach flu the night before so I decided to stay home from school. I fell asleep on the couch in the living room and woke up to my mom yelling for my dad to come into the den to see something. I bolt off the couch to see what's going on and a few minutes later I'm watching the plane hit the second tower. My parents were off to work, and I didn't really wanna be alone, so I got ready and went to school. We watched the news in every class. My friend found out later that a distant aunt and uncle were on the first plane that hit the Trade Center. She's never been the same since, and honestly...I haven't been the same since either.

I was driving to the gym with my 2-year-old daughter in the back seat after dropping my son off at school. I was at the light waiting to turn left into the gym when I first heard the news and it was pretty early on because the first report was that "...it seems that a small plane has hit the World Trade Center..." By the time I parked and got into the locker room, everyone was gathered around the t.v. and it was clear it was not just some errant "small plane". I wish it was, though.

I was in 3rd grade, Mrs. O'Donnels class. I remember we went to our outclass where we sat on the computer and looked at "learning" stuff for 45 min., and our outclass teacher was watching the news, and I heard a noise on TV. I looked back, and saw a plane crashed into two buildings, and the two tops of the building torn off in about 5 seconds. Our parents had a choice to pick us up from school. I'll never forget it, when every fire fighter and police people rushed to save so many lives thta couldn't be saved, including thier own, watching on the news.

I was working at a grocery store that day. A former high school teacher was in my line and he asked me if I'd heard about the plane crashing into the tower. I thought he was joking, then I went home for my break and turned on the tv, and there it was, and the second plane was just running into the other tower and I realized something terrible was happening. I sat there and just cried.

I was at work. I could not believe what was happening. My friend and I were talking about it and ended up in the Cafeteria (where the TV is) along with a good chunk of the employees. It was so sureal. Or country was under attack, what was going to be hit next? How many other planes were up there waiting to attack?

I live on the west coast, so i slept when it happened. Someone called for my hubby to tell us about it. I had to work later in the day, and all morning I sat in front of the TV. i work in a casino, and it was hard to deal cards and try to have a good time that day. All the dealers that day could not stop watching television. How can one laugh and play cards while people were dying? Not a good day.

I was on my way into NYC that day heading into the Queens midtown tunnel when I saw the second plane hit, I was working for the telephone company at the time and I'll tell you it was the scariest scene possibly imaginable. My company sent me to counseling for 2 weeks because my primary route was lower Manhattan.

Taking a pre-employment test at, of all places, a BANK. They had to evacuate all financial institutions, so we had to leave immediately so they could lock the place down, and I was right across the highway from a major airport also. I never did go back and finish that test.
