no, just because you excel at something doesn't mean you enjoy it. I know I didn't.

Loll. Your name says many things, Mr. Minkus. (Oh, Mr. Feeney...) lmaoo.

Personally, I'm that VERY person you just described. I don't like school very much, but I get A's often. I don't even TRY and I get A's. Frankly, it's a little depressing. But I'm one of those bastards that everyone says is "so smart" and "such a genius"- yet I still disagree and take the "humble" route. Hell, humility is a good characteristic, no? :-p

Since I've been identified as "gifted" and whatnot, I enjoy it when teachers give me extra (or harder) work for me to do. The only reason why I hate school is because it's either too easy or that the teachers are TOTAL assh*les. Don't get me wrong- I don't hate EVERY teacher. I love many of them (actually, MOST of them). There are a few who I dislike, but that's about it. :-/

I get A's often, but I love it when people get SHOCKED when they see that I get a "C" or a "D" in a particular subject on a progress report (I got a really bad grade in Advanced Orchestra because the teacher was really, really BAD [total assh*le...]). I did the work and everything, but he had some personal issues against me. Anyway, I appealed and now I'm a free man! :-p

I learn for the sake of learning, not for the stupid "A". If I did that, I'd turn into some of the trolls that go to my school (the totally devoted academics who have the insane urge to step on not-so-gifted people... those bastards...). :-/

Not really. A lot of people who are smart don't enjoy school all that much. Probably they are referring to the social aspect of school when they say they hate it. Maybe they don't have a whole lot of friends, or they aren't good at sports to make a sports team. Next time someone tells you that, ask them what is is about school they do not like. It might not make you hate it so much when you hear the answer!!

No, because like me, I closed off my whole damn life to get those A's, worked my butt off, and all I got out of it was a rejection letter from a politically correct Ivy League School, that chose race over talent, BUT would have let me in if I asked my uncle to pull strings for me.

Believe me, I had better things to be doing.

That's how I was in high school and college. I fooled around and flirted in the classroom, seldom studied at home, and still managed to graduate with high honors. And now I get paid $55,000/year to fool around at work and flirt with the hot, busty blonde from HR. Isn't life grand?

YES!!!!! I have two friends, they're twins, and both of them get straight A's and then go off on teaches because, according to them, "Dude, school, like, just isn't my scene. I always feel, like, too intellectual, ya know?"
