I am an African American. Today I was scorhed by the sun, and I became darker. Is it possible that is If I scrubbed enough with soap that I can get the desired shade of what I used to be?

You'd have to scrub off at least 3-5 layers of skin which would really hurt. Skin burns heal themselves and you'll start noticing a difference in the burn in a few days but it'll take weeks for it to completely fade. Maybe even months.

I'm not a doctor, and I'm not African American, But if you want my opinion I'd say that is not possible. When I get tanned (or burned) by the sun, I can't scrub the marks away no matter how hard I scrub. The only thing I might be able to do would be scrub a few layers of skin away and end up very red and raw looking.

I am an African-American, too, and if you are getting scorched by the sun, then, you stayed in it too long. Not enough scrubbing of soap and water is going to do. But, there is a product out there for us African -Americans that let us lighten our skin tone. You can either find them at your local supermarket in the health care aisle or in some specialized health store.

I don't think that will work, I think if you scrub hard you will only hurt your skin and it might turn red. Your skin should return to the natural color after a few days if you stay out of the sun. good luck

No; everyone tans, you can't scrape off a tan, you're only going to make your skin red and irritated.
