They set them back pretty far, but there are 40 games left. The Sox play on the road against LAA ,CHISOX, and the Tigers, and the Yankees schedule isn't much easier. Plus they play each other 4 games in Sept. Anything can happen, but the Sox have a big hole to climb out of.

This was a key series, especially after the Sox were swept by the lowly Royals. If the Red Sox wanted to make a run or try to dominate their division, they really had to dominate the Yankees....
They are really looking bad right now. They're falling further back behind the Yanks (they're not gonna catch 'em), and losing ground in the wild-card race.
I don't think they're gonna make the playoffs this year... sorry sox fans!

If the Yankees win again on Sunday or Monday, then the Red Sox are as good as done

It's a 162 game season. The next two games will tell a lot but I keep thinking about the '04 ALCS and how the Yankees were up 3-0. Yogi said it best,. "It ain't over till it's over!" As a Yankee fan I just hope the Bombers keep it going.

It's looking like those red sox are made out of concrete and they are swimming in the deep end.

As a die-hard Yankee fan, I would like to think so, but as Yogi Berra once said,"It ain't over till it's over!"
