In medical terms, Aspirin is able to have the effect it does, as it is able to block the production of a substance called Prostagladins. These prostagladins are produce by the body whenever a cell in the body is injured. Production and release of these prostagladins leads to swelling, pain, fever and other symptoms commonly associated with injuries or diseases. By blocking the production of prostagladins, aspirin is able to produce the pain and fever relief that it is renowned for.
Hope that helps.

When you take Advil or ibuprofen, it dilates your blood vessels and thins your blood. When you have a headache, your blood vessels constrict, giving you a lack of oxygen. So when you take the medicine, it opens your blood vessels and gives you more oxygen to the your head, either dulling the headache or ending it.
It's the same concept with pain relief. The medicine is giving more oxygen to the pain, giving it relief. Which is why when you have muscle pain, you are advised to take Advil, so you can have oxygen pulled into your muscles.

Pills dissolve in the stomach and are absorbed into the bloodstream via way of capillaries. The size of a pill is no way indicative of its potency. You also cannot compare medications by the the mg. or gr. or Gm For example 15 mg of Morphine is potent.Demerol 100 mg .is potent.100mg of Morphine would kill you.
