What causes a computer to sound as if the mouse is double clicking on something at random times? Doesn't do anything else just annoys the %^&* out of me.

if the clicking sound is coming from your speakers then you have spyware. you can get rid of it with spybot search & destroy, and ad aware. if the sound is coming from your tower then it is your hard drive that is about to die. back up all your data if it is doing that.

on top of those two programs i suggest you get webroot spysweeper. it is probably the best spyware remover i have used to date. you can get the free trial from the link provided.

Why do peo (I'm not even going to continue)

Please don't go ahead and blame the hard disk, however, it is probably a good idea to backup your important files.

Anyways: This could be caused by something other than Virus and Spyware. If this only happens when there is a message on the screen, (BOLDED LETTERING) then take care of the message first (end of bold lettering and frustration)

Check your Sound prefs & Mouse prefs. Some have boxes you check to make all kinds of annoying noises. They can be shut off.
