Conservatives want the real answer to un-planned pregnancy to be prevention, not treatment. They (we) want the un-planned pregnancy to not be pregnancy in the first place.

Social programs feed money to so much government overhead that they couldn't qualify as a charity if they tried. The problem is that un-wanted pregnancies will not stop occurring regardless of how much abstinence education is done and regardless of how many social programs are ended or started.

The hard choice is what do you rather have: a sick, starving child or a dead child with a grieving mother?

Many Christians are involved in filling the gap with sex education that involves the option of not having sex and with adoption assistance. Habitat for Humanity. These Christians are putting their efforts where their mouths are.

I am glad that you and I agree on one thing. Abortion, not good. The rest is a constant tug of war that neither wins but the system succeeds in staying near what most of the people are OK with.

I'm a conservative Christian, also against abortion, however if you will check the voting status of all the senators and congressmen who vote on matter such as this, you may find that it is not always the conservatives who vote the social programs down. The bottom line is money, and right now, the government is not spending it on social programs of this nature. If we don't like the way our representatives vote, we need to elect ones who will vote the way the majority of constituents wants to go

They're starting to flip-flop, just as you liberals do.
