My parents to know because they are going to yell at me for trying to do so. The reason I'm trying to contact him is because of family problems. I dont know if I should lie about my age so I can email him because If I do I don't know if I will be in trouble or not. What do I do?

I don't think Dr. Phil will disqualify you because of your age. I believe he rather welcome children's point of view, especially when it comes to family problems. He believes it's his job to lecture parents so as to improve their way of raising their children.
Therefore, I strongly encourage you to proceed and send your letter to Dr. Phil; although do not expect for it to be picked up immediately because the volume of people writing to him is really big. Your letter could be one in a million, but trust it will be picked up soon.
Your parents will not know unless they have access to your personal email; although they will eventually know once Dr. Phil begins to write back or summon them to the studio.
Good luck, son.

Email him, go for it. I've been wanting to talk to Dr. Phil because I have family problems too that were never sorted out, and I think they would be mad, too :( Don't lie about your age, it's not necessary. Write a letter if you have to (the address is on his website). Better yet, your school has a guidence councilor or social worker who is always available. There are people out there who want to help you!

Ignore the answers that tell you to e-mail Dr. Phil or Oprah or whoever. The internet is not the way to solve this problem.

Talk to someone you trust other than your parents, preferably a school counselor or teacher or doctor. If you're worried about your parents finding out, make sure the person you talk to promises to keep your conversation confidential.

Depending on the severity of your problem, you may need to contact someone a little closer than Dr. Phil is. While he seems like a great guy on TV, and he probably is, the likelihood of him giving you immediate help is not very good.

If you need help deciding who to go to for help, feel free to email me via the email link on my profile. I will do everything possible to get you the help appropriate to your situation.

Good luck!

How old are you? If your problem is serious, I would email Dr. Phil anyway. He may be able to help you. I don't think he only helps people of a certain age...

Contact Oprah Winfrey if her website allows it. She'll pass the message to Dr. Phil. Do you have someone you can trust who is of age to email him for you? Good luck...I hope things get better for you! :-)

See if a older friend can write on The Dr.Phil
site to him. Don't lie about your age then.
Dr. Phil has a nice site that he keeps check on,
and he has workers that do to.
