You don't say what country you are in now, so I doubt anyone can really help you. Ask Jeeves or Google for a shoe size converter.

that means that your foot is 6 in long from the top of your big toe down to your heel

if it helps US size 9 is 6.5 in UK or 40.5 Eur.
