What does it mean to you if something is "the original"?

Like Levi's are the original blue jeans or DQ Blizzard was the first to put candy in ice cream. How do you feel about things that were the first?

You answered the beginning with 'the first'. The end is I don't care if it is the original unless it is the BEST.

When someone says they're the original, that means other people have recognized a good idea. Often, the "original" is inferior in some way than products that come after it, because innovation is expensive and someone who already has a product is not motivated to mess with it.

For example, IBM was the original PC. Notice IBM is no longer in that business. Compaq, then Gateway and Dell (to name a few) were more agile in business and were able to produce better products at lower prices. This is frequently the case. You mentioned Dairy Queen's Blizzard. There are many places to buy stuff mixed in ice cream (and for my money, a McFlurry is much tastier as far as your national chains).

Beware the original (especially if you're in Quebec, were l'original is a moose).

my only answer is that if you think their "the original" maybe you should be happy for them.But my question is do YOU think your "original? " everyone has something different and think different thats all.just because people think that some products are new and popular doesnt mean you have to think that its tuely the original. :)
