The first day of my period, I have REALLY bad cramps. Usually taking Midol, or something like that helps a little bit, and sometimes using the heating pad, or taking a hot shower helps too, but not a whole lot. Know of anything else I can try? Thx!

from my experience, midol & a heating pad can dull the cramp pain a bit but not make it go away totally. bannanas help a lot. i don't know why but they are like magic! i always make sure i have them in the house when it is that time if the month. other than that, sleeping always helps. or even eating your favorite junk food. hope this helped!!

When i was going up we grined and bared it. Why do so many women put drugs in their body? Don't answer that. lol. There are non medication ways to beat this. I know of one if you can manage without hurting yourself. Alot of young teens i've told are doing it. Get a mat or something comfortable. Lie on your back. Bring your legs up. And peddle your legs as if on a bike. Do it as many times as you can. Slowly though. But if you feel the need for speed because the cramps are real bad. Go for it!
Good luck and stay away from pills. Your poor liver. Ouch!

Check out www.hufa.org. Sometimes PMS and bad periods are related to what your overall diet is doing for you. You may want to cut out the sugar about a week or two before your period, and see if eating really healthy (low glycemic foods - consult a glycemic index) helps.

Try taking 2 Tylenol since that is the dose for people 12 and over plus 1 Advil. You can take both together since they contain diff. ingredients. I tried it once and it helped. Good Luck:)

Hot water bottle on your stomach works a bit for me. Honestly though, exercising gets rid of all the cramps for me.

If you don't have an allergy to ASA or Motrin I have had lots of relief with Motrin or the generic Ibuprofen.
