Sounds to me like the radiator cap needs to be replaced. Most late model vehicles use a pressure cooling system, and the cap is designed to release pressure if it exceeds a certain point. If the spring in the radiator cap is weak or defective, it can cause coolant to leak from the system.

Sounds like your thermostat is stuck. May also be a blown head gasket or cracked head that's pressurizing the cooling system through the combustion chamber. Need to fix ASAP. Good luck.

don't listen to all those other people what you probably have is an air pocket in your system. see your coolant system is atmosphere free meaning there is no air at all. if the is an air pocket and you thermostat open and your coolant hits it, it instantly boils pushing it back out your over flow, look on the top of the plenum for a bleeder valve usually located by your thermostat housing

It could just be the overflow from the resevoir. You need to see where it is spewing from, if it is coming from the radiator or water pump itself, then you have a problem. But if it is from the resvoir, you are probably ok, just over full and when it heats up...it expands past capacity.
