Ya, did all that and was about to "get lucky" but then I got into a really heated self-argument and stormed out on myself. I tell myself I'm the only one for me but I know I'm lying. I can see it in my eyes. :(

every now and then the wife and I would get away for a nice dinner and movie.... everything you mentioned above is used.... Scented candles, veal marsala, a bottle of mascato, maybe some Luther Vandross playing in the background... very nice treat whenever we can get out but good babysitters are hard to come by

I'm living away from my husband while i go to school for a few months. so i treat myself to a nice dinner each week at the same place. it's my way of saying 'good for me for getting through the week.'

Aren't romantic evenings more romantic if it's spent with someone else? Kind defeats the purpose if your're alone! I think what you're describing is "self-pampering".

umm i dunno if you qualify this as a romantic evening--- but to me it was the most romantic evening of my life...
i sat outside in the cool backyard looking at stars with my dog... him under my arm and my head on his shoulder. his massive built (he's a rottweiler) made me feel so protected...
