Black Hawk down was the most "gripping" movie i've seen. It brings out very intense feelings.
Saving Private Ryan as well. My grandfather never talked about his experience at Normandy. Now I know why.

You Must watch "La Vita e Bella" ... *(Life is Beautiful) It is an italian movie, but you can watch it in english or in italian with english subtitles... whatever you prefer. It's about a jewish-italian guy who falls for this girl and he finds his way to her heart, he finally marries her, even though her family disaproves, and they have a little boy. He's a wonderful dad and they love each other so much, you can't help but falling in love with the whole bunch!, the nazis come to get all the jewish people to take them to the concentration camps, they are only after him, cause his wife is not jewish, but she doesn't want him to go alone. So her and their son get in the train that goes to the concentration camp, only she has to go to the women section and the boy to the men section, so the boy goes with his dad. Everyone in the train knows what their future will bring for them, except for the boy and even though the father is affraid, he tries to make it look like it's all a game so the boy doesn't know what's happening, he's funny and he risks everything for his son, you'll laugh and cry 'til you don't know what's going on anymore! hehe, but you'll love this movie, 100% guaranty ;) Roberto Benigni and Nicholetta Braschi (really famous italian actor and actress) are married in real life too. So I only recomend you go to the nearest block buster, get it and a bag of popcorn and enjoy! (don't forget the kleenex ;) )

Hotel Rwanda without a doubt. Everyone should see this movie. It's just a story, not necessarily trying to preach, but the story comes as a result of the horrors of war. It's very real.

Full Metal Jacket. I was in the Marines and the attitudes of the actors are just spot on.
