how do you delete info?
i have a 1998 gateway personal computer
i have a lot of personal info on it
i wwant to delete everything and clean the hard drive
i do still have the original disks it came with and windows 98 . can some one tell me how ican do this?

If you want to do a clean install of windows:

Put the windows CD in the CDrom drive

Boot into it

You will be able to do a clean install (lose all the info on your HDD and only have windowS) that way.

Put the Windows 98 CD into you CD drive
Reboot the computer and it should start the Windows install
About 5-6 screens into the install (after the F8 to agree) it will ask if you want to create a partition by formatting the hard drive
Let it format the hard drive and that will wipe everything
If you want to reinstall Windows, let the set up continue
If not, once the format is done, turn off the computer

when computer start up there it will ask if you want to boot it or not just for a sec, so you have to be quick. press the key during that time. (The key which it shows), and it will ask you some que and yuo will be done. or you can go start menu --> all programs --> accesory --> system tool --> disk clean up. Any of this thing will remove all programms installed in your computer w/ your personal files.
