im sorry but the second you bought your ipod you threw $200 down the drain. i wish more people knew this but iPods die, they just stop working, apple does this so you will buy more of their products. if you have any sense you will get this http://www.creative.com/products/mp3/zen... instead of just getting another iPod

i bought an iPod video for $300, i refunded it and got the creative zen vision M, best choice i ever made, first of all, iPods always have problems, look at how many people on here have problems with them. also it only plays very specific file types. it only plays music in MP3 format, not WMA, WMAs are half the size of MP3s, which means this.

iPods - $300 - 20GB - 10,000 MP3s

creative zen - $300 - 30GB - 15,ooo MP3s, or 30,000 WMAs

would you rather have 10,000 songs or triple that many for the same price. the iPod doesn't even play video unless you either buy the videos from itunes, or buy extra software to make each video compatible, with the zen, you can play any video you want, right out of the box. also the creative play FM and records from it, the iPod doesn't even play FM. also the zen has much muhc much longer battery life, no matter what apple advertise, you can only watch continual video for 1 and a half hours. with the zen it goes on past 4 hours. and the battery on iPods dies beyond rechargeability after a year, thats right, iPods dont work after a year. the zen will last you forever.when your iPod malfunctions each month you also have the security of knowing that the apple company service will ignore and neglect you, the creative customer service is great, not that ive ever had to call for this product. the iPods only sell so well because they are a fashion accessory, they are for people that wont even use the features they lie about having. the creative is for people that actually want their money's worth.

please trust me, i have owned both of these products and i work with them, i know what im talking about.

1. try charging it.
2. if that doesn't work, take it to wherever you bought it, and they'll send it into 'the ipod fixer place' and they'll replace it.
3. you could also try toggling the hold switch, and then holding the center button and the menu button for over 10 seconds, it should reset and take you out of disk mode, if you're in it.
4. Good Luck!

1st = Charge it, most of the time when my Ipod doesn't turn on, it needs to charge

2nd=After it's fully charged, go to your Ipod manual on the computer and press those 2 buttons at the same time

3= if none of those work, ask yourself these questions
Did you damage the Ipod in any way
Did it get wet, or stepped on

4=go to Apple website and schedule a repair for your Ipod

Well, it may have gotten too hot and/or the battery is dead. Don't worry. Charge it up and leave it alone until tomorrow. And don't charge your ipod with the case on it. It needs to stay at room temperature.

Do you have a warrant on it? if you do then u can get a new one for free but u might lose all your songs
Mine was defective and i got a nenw one for free if you go to the apple store they can see wuts wrong with it and posibly fix it then if they cant and you have a warant then dont worry about anything-- except for losing your songs

Sounds like the batteries died. Plug it in the usb adapter that goes to your computer and wait for a few minutes. I'm sure it will turn right back on.

either the battery is dead, or it's on hold. look on the top of ur iPod, and where is says, Hold, if its orange, then move the switch over.

does the screen say that it is in "disk mode"?

if so, open google and type this search phrase:

ipod disk mode turn off
