I would if he was very qualified. If he had a lot of the same views that I had, then why shouldn't he have the oval office.
I know that a lot of people base a vote on religion, but I feel that should be irrelevant. Religion is not a main component of running our government, and it should not really come out in elections. All that does is create anger and resentment. Besides, GW is supposedly this "God fearing" person, but yet feels that he can lie, cheat and kill for his party's benefit. Good one.

I'll agree that religion has a role in politics, and I will honestly say that I wouldn't vote for a Muslim. It's not because I am intolerant, however. It -is- because the Koran has quite a few teachings that I do not agree with. As a woman I believe it would be detrimental to vote for a person that would most likely impugn on my basic rights simply because I am female do not believe in the same religion that he does.
Lastly, in my opinion a person that makes a C average in college is not qualified to be president. I expect the leader of the free world to have made exemplary grades in school because this commander will need to have the intelligence to make many difficult decisions.

I read an article where Joe Lieberman{ Jewish} was thinking of running for president on an independent ticket cause he couldn't get nominated on either a Republican or Democratic ticket! Think "religion" doesn't have something to do with it? If there was a Muslim candidate that could clean up this mess that were in in this world I would vote for them in a heart beat! Why do we have this "phobia" of people who are different than we are outside of our own race and culture? Why do we feel so threatened? We don't want the Mexicans , we don't like the Russians, We don't like the French , the list is endless but yet there's a statue of the "Lady Of Liberty" out in the NY harbor welcoming "everybody" to our country! What is wrong with this picture? Americans want to know, Why do they hate us?{ other countries} How many "innocent" people do we have to kill in the name of fighting terrorism?Does that make us any better than the "terrorists" ? No I don't think so! My idea on good grades is that there are allot of people that get good grades and are intelligent when it comes to being "book" smart as I call it, but dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to common sense! So I don't judge a person just by grades! I want somebody with intelligence, morals, honesty character and able to lead in times of trouble without thinking that "war" is the only way to obtain peace! Race and religion shouldn't have anything to do with picking a president, it's who is the most qualified to handle the job!

It would be difficult, given that it seems we are at war with the Muslim world. Perhaps a Muslim president could help to promote peaceful relations with the middle east. More likely though, he would be viewed as a traitor by the more radical Muslim world. Ultimately, if the person was the best canditate for the job I think I would vote for them. I just tend to doubt that a Muslim will share my views or be seen as the best, by me.

Yes, I definately would if he or she was more qualified than my other options. Not that it really matters anymore. For some reason, the people of this nation beLIEve that GW was the first dishonest President. Politicians have to lie, its in their job description. And heaven forbid we find out that our President is human. I would like to remind the public that the Founding Fathers were mostly businessmen who would profit by separation from England. President Lincoln invaded his own country (unconstitutional as heck)! Its unfortunate we just can't vote in God, huh? Until this nation begins to vote in the real qualified men and women to lead this country, we're just gonna bicker amongst ourselves and keep the status quo in office.

It would be nearly impossible for a Muslim to get elected President in this country or anywhere else where Christianity is the traditional, dominant religion. So the answer is no.

I would vote for someone who was extremely qualified and experienced, if his (or her) political agenda was something that I could support.
Religion would have absolutely nothing to do with it, unless that religion would dictate the policies the candidate planned on implementing. Which, by my definition, immediately makes them unqualified for the job.

Absolutely if he was qualified ( a c average doesn't quite cut it) I believe anyone would be better than Bush. I think he will go down in history as the man who almost killed America. I would love to see a independent win someone from the business sector and someone who doesn't need the money.
