[2] Why do we call them bad leaders, when actually there are thousands following them?
-How come we call someone a bad leader when many others think he/she is the best leader?

To be able to lead is a hard job and wrought with great responsibilities ans difficulties, trying to please a lot of people and do a great job.

Those who knock are usually the ones who voted them in if they made a wrong mistake then the point is to either step up to the plate and take up the challenge or vote differently and don't sit on the sideline and make judgement calls from the safety of your self imposed sanctuary.

It depends on whether you are asking if the person is an EFFECTIVE leader or a leader that is making a positive difference in the world as a whole.

When someone says Hitler was a BAD LEADER they mean that he led his people to a bad place, did bad things, and created misery. No doubt many people followed him, so he was an EFFECTIVE leader, but no less bad because of his effectiveness.

The World is full of perception, followers usually think that their leader (s) are exceptional but on the other hand we have the non-followers that think the opposite.
To be a leader does not need to be intelligent only need to use the words power to convince followers and the majority of the word are either followers or not caring to oppose to the "so call leader".

To those for whom these leaders serve a purpose, for example doing favors or "currying favor" as it is called, they are considered good leaders. And quite obviously for those whom this person has the opposite effect, he/she is a bad leader. In various parts of the world, too many in my opinion, favoritism of a leader may be based on ethnicity, for example those of his own sect or race will give him a great following because they believe that they will be better looked after, seeing that he's the same as they are. Whereas the other citizens who are not of his sect may feel left out, believing that they will not be treated equally well.

Some people will follow you to the end of the earth and still don't understand what you believe in. Bad leaders are just that bad leaders and they have followers who unfortunately just don't get it.

Being designated a bad leader usually means that while your smaller group may belief a certain way or philosophy,it interferes with the greater good. Its all well for Hezbollah to want the destruction of Israel, but not good for Israel or the rest of the world. We just have to give each other respect and try to get along.

they are called bad leaders because :
they were chosen to do things they announced in their campaigns during the elections so after they have the power they never do their promises...and about the thousands that follow them don't forget that there may be millions who don't follow them .. these thousands may be attracted to the bas leaders for a special purpose like power, money...etc. and not for the peace and joy of the other millions

Sometimes referring to someone as a bad leader is a poor choice of words. It is used to refer to someone my be doing things differently and not approved of by the person saying the words. Leadership qualities do not reflect noble actions. One could say Hitler and Stalin were effective leaders, but they were evil people who did evil things. An idiot can surround himself with good people, and those people, if left to their own devices, can make that idiot look pretty good. A good leader can surround himself with just one or two idiots, and not ever be able to wash the egg off his face.

If the majority of the population decided to jump off the nearest cliff, would that make it an okay thing to do?

Just because there are thousands of "Sheeple" out there following bad leaders, doesn't mean you have to agree or to follow.
