I was on a plane from Manila to Hong Kong and there were three Arabs waiting to get on the plane. I think what freaked me out the most is that they were all sitting seperately. I ended up talking with one of them on the plane and he was, not surprisingly, a really nice guy. I know it was an unreasonable fear, but a fear I had nonetheless. Anyone else ever feel like this?

I can see your concern. But you can believe that if an Arab was coming on the plane to cause destruction, he would have enough sense not to come looking Arab. Don't you think that would draw a little attention?
But anyone who says you are racist for feeling like that is lying to himself. People would like to think they always take the moral high ground but what is the truth of the matter?

no, because the arab looking people are with me! I've never been on plane and I never plan on going on one, but I wouldn't be scared becuase I love Arab people and I'm married to an Arab man. Racial profiling is bad. All the arabs I know are wonderful, funny, and very loyal to friends and family.

Not usually but I have to say -last time I was on one sitting 0ne seat up across from me-a person was holding tightly on to a black box all through the trip. He was Arab looking and he kept looking around--it did make me nervous. Ordinarily I would not notice most but his behavior caught my eye. I am glad it was nothing but the thought did cross my mind. It is a scary world-you never know who is good and who is bad,

I don't. But I do stare at all people whenever they meddle with their shoes or shoe laces on the plane after its taken off.

Sometimes people may seem to look like a certain group of people but end of being another ethnicity. u should never assume about people. sometimes they end of being nice people--like u found out. dont be ignorant! u wouldnt want someone to assume something about u!
